Agricultural Research Foundation: Faculty Research Assistant/Research Associate Award

PURPOSE:

To recognize outstanding and exceptional service by Faculty Research Assistants/Research Associates within the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University

NATURE:

Up to two (2) recipients will be selected. Each recipient will receive a cash award of $1,000 and a plaque.

ELIGIBILITY:

Nominees must be members of the research faculty within the College of Agricultural Sciences and hold the rank of Faculty Research Assistant, Senior Faculty Research Assistant (I or II), Research Associate, or Senior Research Associate (I or II). At the time of nomination, the nominees must have a minimum of three (3) years of service within the College of Agricultural Sciences. Example: Faculty who began their research position in the Fall of 2022 would be eligible to be nominated for this award in the 2026 award cycle (year 1 = 22/23, year 2 = 23/24, year 3 = 24/25).

The Dean, Associate Deans, Chief Operating Officer, and all other Agricultural Sciences administration personnel are not eligible to receive or contribute to the nomination for an award.

CRITERIA:

Evaluations will be based on the following criteria:

  • Job performance and innovation - as it exceeds normal expectations.
  • Willingness to accept new responsibilities.
  • Peer recognition.
  • Evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Involvement in University-related outside activities.

NOMINATIONS MATERIALS

In addition to the base nomination materials required for all awards (one (1) paragraph bio-summary, letter of nomination, and three (3) supporting letters), nomination packets must also include:

  1. The nomination materials should address the criteria above.
  2. A professional/abbreviated resume (3 pg. max.).
  3. Position description.

Complete nomination packets (combined into one PDF document) should be emailed to CAS-Deans.Approval@oregonstate.edu no later than 5:00 pm on April 9, 2026. Corrections or updates to nomination packets will not be accepted after the nomination deadline.
