Snake River Weed Research Tour

The Snake River Weed Research Tour will be in June 2026, exact date to be determined, at the Malheur Experiment Station. The long running Field Day showcases weed research studies for various crops grown in the Treasure Valley of eastern Oregon and southwestern Idaho, including onion and sugar beet. The 2026 field day will also include biofumigation cover crop studies. Don't miss this opportunity to walk through weed and biofumigation cover crop field trials in person and interact with OSU scientists and staff. Oregon and Idaho pesticide credits will be available after the tour.
A hosted lunch will be served at noon. The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to ensure proper catering for lunch.

The Malheur Experiment Station Field Day has a long-time tradition for sharing the work of experiment station faculty with growers and community members. This is an opportunity to view field trials in person, learn about current crop research projects, and interact with OSU scientists. Trials for onions, potatoes, sugar beets, dry beans, wheat, and hemp will be on display.
The Field Day includes a hosted lunch at noon. The event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to ensure proper catering for lunch.
Malheur Experiment Station Onion Variety Day

Registration starts at 9:00 am with refreshments in the field.
This is a chance for growers, industry, and researchers to examine a replicate of the onion variety trial where the onions are lifted and laid out in half of the plot and the other half of the onion plot is still growing. You will be able to examine each of the many varieties of onions in the trial. There will be a shade canopy setup with water and refreshments in the field.
