Share Your Story: Advancing Inclusive Excellence in the College of Agricultural Sciences

We are gathering content for the Fall and Spring editions of our CEDI (Culture, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) newsletter, which highlights the ongoing work, stories, events, and insights that advance inclusive excellence in the College of Agricultural Sciences. Whether you’re a student, staff member, faculty member, or community partner, your experiences and observations help shape a more equitable and welcoming college environment.

Your contributions don’t need to be long or fully polished. We welcome a wide range of submissions, including:

  • Student or faculty highlights
  • Projects or initiatives that promote equity and inclusion
  • Upcoming events or event recaps
  • Resources or tools that support inclusive conversations
  • Brief anecdotes or reflections
  • Challenges or experiences that were difficult but led to learning or change
  • Meaningful moments during meetings or in classrooms
  • Any instance—big or small—that helps advance inclusive excellence

Our goal is to encourage open dialogue and learning in a space grounded in mutual respect, curiosity, and shared progress.

Submissions will help us highlight the ways our community is living out the values outlined in our Strategic Plan for Inclusive Excellence (SPIE) and embracing the principles in our CAS CARE document—a guide to fostering civil discourse, valuing others, and promoting a culture of inclusion.

If you’d like to write your own story, feel free to share that too! You can even include photos so we can create a web layout and feature it in the newsletter.
