PURPOSE
To recognize the achievement of excellence by agricultural extension agents and specialists who have contributed significantly to helping Oregonians resolve difficult problems through extended educational programs.
NATURE
The recipient will receive a cash award of $1,000 and a plaque.
ELIGIBILITY
Nominees must be current Extension employees whose work responsibilities align with the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the College of Agricultural Sciences. Eligible individuals contribute significantly to addressing the needs of Oregon’s communities through Extension programming that supports the college’s strategic goals. Nominees’ work must align with expertise in one or more of the College of Agricultural Sciences’ departments.
CRITERIA
The award will be given to qualifying Extension agents and specialists. Nominations will be evaluated on the following basis:
- The conduct of significant educational programs.
- The use of effective educational methods.
- Measurable results achieved.
NOMINATION MATERIALS:
In addition to the base nomination materials required for all awards (one (1) paragraph bio-summary, letter of nomination, and three (3) supporting letters), nomination packets must also include:

The letter of nomination should include the following:
- Summarize the major contributions of the nominee's educational program efforts and the impact it has had on Oregonians.
- Provide evidence of a successful program.
- The supporting letters should be written by colleagues and clients.
- A professional resume.
- Position description.
Complete nomination packets should be combined into one PDF document and emailed to CAS-Deans.Approval@oregonstate.edu no later than 5:00 pm on April 28, 2025. Corrections or updates to nomination packets will not be accepted after the nomination deadline.
